The mystical Black Forest
The Black Forest is the largest continuous low mountain range in
Germany. Although the Black Forest contains hundreds of streams and
rivers, two are particularly noteworthy: The Brigach and the Breg. These
two barely known rivulets are the sources of the Danube! Mining,
forestry and glass, these and the region’s renowned clocks were the
industries of the Black Forest for a very long time. Today tourism is
naturally one of the cornerstones of its flourishing economy.
Those unfamiliar with the area often obtain their perceptions of the
Black Forest through Black Forest ham, cuckoo clocks and there red
woollen balls on ladies hats. And of course the calorie-laden desert
known as Black Forest Gateaux.
However, the Black Forest has so much more to offer … |

When I visited the Black Forest for the first time around 30 years ago,
the regional cuisine in the area’s inns confirmed every preconception:
Rich, heavy and overly proportioned. These preconceptions are finally a
thing of the past. The food of the Black Forest is one of the top
cuisines in Europe and need not hide behind the Alsace in any way.
Walking, cycling and cross-country skiing in the winter, these are all
typical sports activities which are perfectly suited to the Black
Forest. Take a look at our links to find out more about the cycle tours!
But in the Black Forest you will also find some of the best wellness
oases in Germany! The Shrove Tuesday customs and Corpus Christi
processions are also renowned.
Example price for a day trip
excluding food and entry fees or other tickets! Suitable for walking or
visiting museums. We are naturally also happy to organise all entrances,
museum tours and walks as required. And we can also arrange any form of
cuisine, from four star through to sausages on a BBQ.
